Dear Friends of the Dharma,
Due to the everchanging nature of the Covid 19 Pandemic which we are experiencing globally, the government of Canada just announced today that all gatherings of 50 people or more should be cancelled. Both the Provincial and Federal Governments are asking all of us to help in the fight against the spreading of the Covid 19 virus.
To do our part, effective immediately, the Steveston Buddhist Temple will be cancelling all of its services and classes held at the temple for the rest of March and all of April. This includes all regular Sunday services, Dharma School classes, Shotsuki service, Hanamatsuri service, lectures and Moe no Kai gatherings. We will also suspend visits to Maples Senior housing for their monthly service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but we are in unprecedented times experiencing a Pandemic unknown to mankind in the modern era.
We do hope to be able to return to regular services as soon as possible. We ask all of you to remain vigilant by taking care of your personal hygiene and may you all stay well during this time.
Thank you for your continued support of the temple.
