Come join us for Seiza Meditation Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm as well as on Friday mornings at 10:30 am.
No experience is needed and you will find it most calming and enjoyable. Everyone is welcome, member, non-member, Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike.
On Thursdays we start with a short chant to help us relax and synchronize our breathing. This is followed by about 20 minutes of slow walking meditation, where we chant the name of the Buddha to help us relax and clear our minds. For the final 25-30 minutes we do quiet sitting meditation, where you can choose any way of sitting that helps you relax, yet remain awake!
Friday mornings after Seiza meditation, Rev. Ikuta will be leading an hour session in chanting the Triple Pure Land Sutra in English. We will be using the format established by the Kelowna Buddhist Temple. The actual reading of the Pure Land Sutras is most informative and will deepen one’s understanding of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.
Come join us for this most relaxing practice even if you can only come as time permits. We would be glad to see you.
